Devon and John met a year or so before the pandemic in good ol' Richmond, Virginia where they were both living at the time. Devon grew up in Richmond, Virginia and was living on her own for the first time and John was there pursuing a dream of working in the beer brewing industry. He started a run club at one of the breweries he was working at, Triple Crossing, and Devon's shared friends, Chad and Sarah, had her join in as well. As they began spending more time together they became friends. Then, John moved home (all the way to Venice, Florida!) right before 2020 to save money and earn his masters degree. They began to have FaceTime hangs... which eventually turned into "dates." During Spring of the pandemic, John and Devon decided to make it official after many a FaceTime date. They were long distance for about a year and then Devon moved to Clearwater, FL to live with her parents for a year. It wasn't until 2022 Devon and John moved to Charlotte, NC to begin their love story together at last! They've made many great memories in CLT and enjoy calling it home. January 2024 John took Devon on her first trip to Colorado, where they did what they love most, enjoyed the outdoors. He proposed to her at the end of a snowshoe hike on frozen Bear Lake. Ever since, nothing has been sweeter.
